Don Williams Undergoes Surgery, Postpones Tour

Don Williams has been forced to postpone his 2016 tour following unexpected hip replacement surgery. The 76-year-old singer was slated to begin his latest trek on February 17th in Jacksonville, Florida, with dates through April 16th.
A statement from the Country Music Hall of Famer’s publicist encourages ticket buyers to contact local venues and authorized ticketing platforms regarding refunds. No make-up dates for the 21-city trek have been announced at this time.
The 1978 CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, Williams crossed over in 1981 with “I Believe in You,” a Number One country smash which reached the pop Top 30. For an entire decade from 1974 to 1984, every country hit Williams released reached the Top 10, with 17 of them going all the way to Number One. His most recent LP Reflections was released in 2014 by Sugar Hill Records.
Williams, who has performed to audiences throughout the world, initially retired from the road in 2006, but began touring again in 2010, the same year he became a Country Music Hall of Fame member.
