Dolly Parton, Jennifer Nettles Anchor Country Christmas Specials
The CMA Country Christmas special doesn’t air until November 28th (on ABC), but country artists already gathered to film the festive show this week in Nashville. Brad Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini, Kelly Clarkson and host Jennifer Nettles all sang holiday songs, along with Brett Eldredge, Chris Young and Kacey Musgraves, who each released a Christmas album this season.
Country stars also help welcome the Yuletide in New York City at the annual Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center. Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have been announced to perform at the concert, which will air November 30th (on NBC).
Parton in fact will pull double duty that night. Immediately following the tree lighting, her new made-for-TV movie Christmas of Many Colors premieres on NBC. The film, starring Jennifer Nettles, Ricky Schroder and featuring a special appearance by Parton, is the sequel to last year’s ratings-grabber Coat of Many Colors, based on the Tennessee singer’s signature song.
