Dierks Bentley Pilots Sold-Out Detroit Show: The Ram Report
It was a mile-high event when Dierks Bentley brought his Somewhere on a Beach tour to Detroit over the weekend.
“Up on the Ridge” kicked off a high-energy set spanning the country star’s 13 years as one of Nashville’s biggest musical names, during a show he says was “one of the biggest” of his career. He followed with fan favorites including “5-1-5-0, ” “What Was I Thinking,” and “I Hold On.” And several songs from his new album, Black (out this Friday) made the set list, as well, including “What the Hell Did I Say” and the smoldering title track.
The song that arguably got fans screaming loudest was “Drunk on a Plane,” as Bentley rolled out the front half of an actual airplane on stage. Opening acts Randy Houser, Cam and Tucker Beathard then joined the pilot uniform-clad headliner on stage to join in on the chart-topping booze fest.
Bentley’s Somewhere on a Beach tour hits the Big Apple tomorrow, followed by shows at LSU’s Tiger Stadium and in Panama City Beach, Florida. See his full list of tour dates here.
