On Tuesday, Craig Morgan released tour dates for his fall American Stories Tour, which will reprise his 2016 variety show featuring select guests in support of military veterans. The events, which partner with the nonprofit Operation Finally Home, will get underway in September and feature return performances by all of last year’s musicians and authors.
Depending on location and date, musicians Marla Cannon-Goodman, Mac Powell, Aly Beaird and Phil O’Donnell will all perform, with authors Taya Kyle and Clint Romesha also attending. Other entertainers and dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Morgan’s latest record, 2016’s A Whole Lot More to Me, marked a departure for the Tennessee native and “Redneck Yacht Club” artist.
“People who don’t know anything about country music, they have these perceptions,” he told Rolling Stone Country last year. “So after I had the experience of going to New York City for the first time and realizing it was nothing like I’d expected, I realized that other people had the same perceptions about me. I wanted to try to break that mold.”
In recognition of his efforts with veterans’ causes, Morgan was named 2017 ambassador for Operation Finally Home, which will be donating multiple mortgage-free houses to former servicemen in conjunction with tour stops.
