CMT Names 2014 Artists of the Year

Few country artists have enjoyed a more successful 2014 than Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line, all of whom have spent the past 10 months on tour, on the charts or in the studio. On December 2nd, CMT will honor those hit makers and road dogs during the fifth annual CMT Artists of the Year ceremony, which pays tribute to those musicians who’ve had the biggest impact and influence on country music throughout the year. The 90-minute show airs live at 8 p.m. ET.
Since the awards ceremony launched in 2010, Aldean has received the honor every single year. Lambert, Bryan and Florida Georgia Line are all previous winners, too, with Urban standing out as the only first-time honoree in the 2014 pack. As in previous years, the ceremony will include tributes, acceptance speeches and live performances.
Exactly one month before the show, ABC will air the 48th CMA Awards, featuring performances by nearly all of the 2014 Artists of the Year. Brad Paisley, who received the CMT honor in 2011, will host the CMA ceremony along with two-time CMT Artist of the Year Carrie Underwood.
