Chris Janson Sets Fall Release for New Album ‘Everybody’

Due September 22nd, record is the follow-up to Janson’s major-label debut, ‘Buy Me a Boat’

Chris Janson – the whirling dervish live performer and hit singer-songwriter behind 2015’s clever get-rich hit “Buy Me a Boat” – is prepping for the release of his second full album this fall.

Arriving September 22nd, Janson’s sophomore set will be titled Everybody, and he tells Rolling Stone Country that the album’s first priority is to reconnect with country fans.

“I decided to title this album Everybody because that’s exactly who inspired it,” he says. “Real songs, real stories, and songs that I believe people from every walk of life can relate to. It’s everybody – and it’s all on this record.”

Everybody follows the five-song EP Fix a Drink, released in June. The new set will include those songs – “Redneck Life,” “Little Bit of Both,” “Name On It” and the Top 30 single “Fix a Drink” – alongside the “Everybody” title track, a bounding good-timer with a romantic lyrical payoff.

Speaking with Janson in May, the Missouri native said he co-wrote each and every track with hitmakers like Ashley Gorley, Craig Wiseman and Ross Copperman. Janson also co-produced the project with help from Chris DuBois and Brett Anderson (who did the same on Janson’s Buy Me a Boat debut), with Scott Hendricks joining the production team for the first time.

Janson is currently on the road as part of Sam Hunt’s 15 in a 30 Tour with Maren Morris and Ryan Follese.
