Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam Adds Bryan, Stapleton: The Ram Report
Charlie Daniels has an all-star cast of collaborators for his 41st annual Volunteer Jam. Luke Bryan has been added to the lineup, joining Chris Stapleton, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt and Larry the Cable Guy.
The event is set for November 30th at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. That’s just a few weeks after Daniels celebrates his 80th birthday, along with his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Volunteer Jam benefits the Journey Home Project, a non-profit organization co-founded by the country legend as a way to return the favor to U.S. Armed Forces. The initiative helps all sorts of veterans’ programs, from those providing medical care to employment assistance. Daniels has been an outspoken – and active – supporter of the troops for decades. In 2007, he was awarded the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service award for his support of the military. That same year, World War II veterans honored him with the AmVet Silver Helmet award, which recognizes various patriotic efforts. In addition to the Journey Home Project, Daniels also started Operation Heartstrings, which provides musical instruments to deployed service members. And Nashville’s Lipscomb University named a scholarship after him, awarding tuition money to veterans.
Tickets to Volunteer Jam 2016 can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
