Carrie Underwood couldn’t be in Los Angeles for the Teen Choice Awards, but someone was watching for her.
“While on stage tonight in Camrose @theBVJ I got word that I won a #TeenChoice Award! Wow!!! Thanks so much! I have the best fans ever!!!” she tweeted Sunday just after the Big Valley Jamboree.
Underwood is the teens’ choice for Favorite Country Artist, marking her fifth career Teen Choice win. In addition to her multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM wins, among other honors, the “Church Bells” singer has a lucrative history with fan-voted awards shows. She’s an eight-time People’s Choice Awards winner and holds the record for the most Video of the Year wins at the CMT Awards (six) — with a total of 15 CMT wins in all.
Underwood’s CMA Awards co-host Brad Paisley is also a 2016 Teen Choice Awards winner. He won Favorite Country Song for his Demi Lovato duet, “Without a Fight.”
Justin Bieber is the teens’ Favorite Male Artist, while Selena Gomez won Favorite Female Artist. As for the night’s top honor, Justin Timberlake was presented with the Decade Award.
