Brad Paisley spoofed singing reality series in the video for his 2003 hit "Celebrity," but now the white-hatted country guitarist is joining one himself. On ABC's forthcoming reality contest Rising Star, Paisley will team up with rapper Ludacris and pop starlet Ke$ha to advise aspiring singers.
The series expands on the template set by American Idol by allowing viewers to vote for their favorite contestants in real time via an app. In other words, no more waiting around for the results show the next night or week. Hosted by Josh Groban, Rising Star premieres June 22nd.
This isn't the first time Paisley has been tied to a reality show. In 2012, he was rumored to be in contention for a judging slot on American Idol, which ultimately brought some country to the panel with the addition of Keith Urban.
