Beyonce at CMAs: Country Stars React to Surprise Performance
Depending on whom you ask, Beyoncé’s performance with Dixie Chicks at this week’s 50th CMA Awards was thrilling or polarizing. The duet on Beyoncé’s “Daddy Lessons” sparked controversy online, with the CMA refuting claims that it tried to minimize the pop superstar’s performance by removing any mention of it from their social accounts.
Most country music stars, however, viewed the appearance by Beyoncé to be good for the genre. Even Garth Brooks, the newly crowned Entertainer of the Year raved about the performance. “Queen Bey and the Dixie Chicks, I thought that was just power — raw power,” he told reporters backstage. “I love that it was all feminine raw power.”
The Ram Report took to the CMA red carpet to ask artists to share their candid thoughts.
