No one was surprised that Brad Paisley and LL Cool J‘s puzzling duet “Accidental Racist” ignited a firestorm of debate and ridicule, except maybe Paisley and LL themselves. The song is a strange back-and-forth where Paisley sings about wanting to rock the Confederate flag while grappling with the South’s racist history, and LL raps “If you don’t judge my gold chains/I’ll forget the iron chains.” Even aside from the regrettable lyrics, it’s an uncomfortable musical mish-mash of country balladry and awkwardly shoehorned rapping.
Paisley and LL Cool J have both said they’re standing by the song, but criticism – and a few rare nods of praise – are still making waves on the Internet. We have Twitter to thank for supplying some much-needed, priceless jests on the subject. Read on for our list of the funniest reactions to “Accidental Racist” on Twitter. Just don’t judge my do-rag!
Just heard the “Accidental Racist” man that Weird Al is amazing.
“@alyankovic: . I WOULD do ‘Accidental Nazi’ but I’m not sure I could get Mel Brooks to do the rapping part.” Mel Gibson would work too.

Brad Paisley & LL Cool J should do a music video, where they’re edited into Gone With the Wind, making out in front of a burning plantation.

The only thing I don’t understand about “Accidental Racist” is how Kid Rock had nothing to do with it.

“Accidental Racist” is so musically awful that even if it had no vocals, it would still be a greater crime than centuries of slavery.

The 1st line of Brad Paisley’s “Accidental Racist” is “To the man that waited on me at the Starbucks down on Main”. That old country cliché?
