Carrie Underwood, Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini are among the artists that will take the stage at the 2019 CMT Music Awards. CMT announced the initial slate of performers on Wednesday morning, a roster that spotlights some of contemporary country’s most popular entertainers.
Along with that trio of women, each of whom is having a remarkable year, Grammy-winning duo Dan + Shay, firebrand Kane Brown, country’s pop-forward family man Thomas Rhett and the veteran Luke Bryan are all set to perform. Little Big Town return for a second year as hosts.
Miranda Lambert, Brothers Osborne, Zac Brown Band and Morris were the top nominees with three each when nominations were announced last week. First-time nominees include Brandi Carlile, Leon Bridges (for his CMT Crossroads appearance with Luke Combs) and Ashley McBryde. Underwood, who is currently on her Cry Pretty Tour 360, is the most awarded artist in the show’s history.
The 2019 CMT Music Awards are entirely fan-voted, with voting open through June 4th at vote.cmt.com. The final five nominees for the Video of the Year category will be announced the morning of the show, with voting continuing through the telecast.
The CMT Music Awards air live on CMT on Wednesday, June 5th, at 8:00 p.m./ET.
