2015 Grammy Nominees for Best Country Album

The 2014 CMA Award winner for Album of the Year joins two of her fellow nominees in the category, plus an indie songwriting phenomenon and country’s comeback queen in the 2015 Grammy nominations for Country Album of the Year.
Miranda Lambert’s trophy-accumulating Platinum is honored alongside Eric Church’s The Outsiders, Dierks Bentley’s Riser, Brandy Clark’s 12 Stories and Lee Ann Womack’s The Way I’m Livin’ as the nominated LPs announced this morning. Other categories will be announced throughout the day via Twitter, with the long list of 82 of the Grammys’ 83 categories (minus the top honor, Album of the Year), posted later this afternoon. The all-genre Album of the Year nominees will be announced during tonight’s A Very Grammy Christmas special at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. Hosted by LL Cool J, the holiday special will feature performances by Tim McGraw, Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande and Big Sean.
Clark also has a nod for Best New Artist, as the only country musician in the category. She’s up against Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Bastille and Haim. Country-gone-pop superstar Taylor Swift has a nod in the Record of the Year category for her infectious “Shake It Off.” She’s up against Nashville-based pop newbie Meghan Trainor with “All About That Bass,” Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Sia’s “Chandelier” and “Fancy,” by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX.
The 57th annual Grammy Awards will air live from Los Angeles on February 8, 2015, on CBS.
