"Got a little redneck in your blood?" Tim McGraw sang at the start of a fan-fueled event in New York City last week to celebrate his new album, Damn Country Music, presented by Pandora streaming service.

The Edison Ballroom was a surprisingly intimate location for a live performance by an artist of McGraw's status, but the zealous audience members — some of whom were staying in the hotel and wore their bathrobes to the show — didn’t seem to mind. Some of them had been waiting all day to fight their way to the front of the stage, eagerly awaiting McGraw's classics as well as songs from the new record. Here are the best photos, captured by Rolling Stone Country, from Wednesday’s album release party.

Shotgun Riders

Even on a tiny stage, McGraw's eight-man band brought out the big guns with six guitar pedal boards — enough to take shotgun riders in the crowd from cruise to full throttle.

Far and Away

With his band the Dancehall Doctors backing him up, McGraw hardly had to showboat to give a lively rendition of "Where the Green Grass Grows."
