This 1994 album is the sole release from Senegalese griot singer Aby Ngana Diop, who performed taasu (a centuries-old, rap-like, improvised storytelling style) over contemporary Senegalese pop. Beyond her staccato megaphone of a voice, the melting-pot music is hyped-up and blown out with deafening tama and sabar drums; on "Dieuleul-Dieuleul," the beat is like an N.W.A instrumental sped up to the dizzying velocity of break-beat hardcore techno.
