Whether performing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live or headlining a show at her label home, Third Man Records, Margo Price and her band (the perfectly named Price Tags) make every venue feel like a smoked-out, modern-day honky-tonk, hitting a perfect balance between country tradition and a restless, rock & roll spirit. Since CMA Fest isn't exactly home to too many Jack White-approved artists like Price, who are most often spotted playing venues like Willie Nelson's Texas ranch or London's Rough Trade, booking her is sign that maybe mainstream Nashville is warming up again to music that pushes both boundaries and buttons.
