Paul McCartney started this decade working at a torrid pace, releasing a classical album in 2011 and two pop albums in 2012 and 2013. He's since been quiet on the recorded front, instead spending 2017 touring in New Zealand, Australia, Japan and both North and South America. But McCartney also has a long-gestating album on the back burner that he's been crafting with help from pop-producer-savant Greg Kurstin. "[Kurstin] went on to work with Beck and got best Album of the Year [Grammy] with Beck; then he went on to work with Adele and has just got Song of the Year, Record of the Year, with Adele, of course and just got Producer of the Year," McCartney told BBC last year. "So my only worry is, people are going to go, 'Oh there's Paul going with the flavor of the month.'" McCartney wouldn't provide any updates on his LP's progress, but the former Beatle promised he was "beavering away." "As Ringo says, 'It's what we do,'" McCartney added.
