The ups and downs of rock photographer Mick Rock's glamorous, trailblazing career has been chronicled in the new documentary Shot! The Psycho-Spiritual Mantra of Rock. A new trailer details the inward journey Rock takes in the film.
"It's an energy thing," Rock's narration begins in the trailer. "In the heights of the moment, I say 'assassin' because that's what I feel like, and I'm gonna take you out." From there, the photographer notes how he and David Bowie mutually launched his career and the wide range of superstars he chronicled, especially in the Seventies.
Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Rod Stewart, Blondie and Queen were just some of the rock icons he snapped, and those images form Rock became some of the most legendary photos from the era. Rock also dives into drug addiction and a near-death experience he faced in his youth.
Shot! will be released in theaters on April 7th, while simultaneously premiering on OnDemand, Amazon Video and iTunes.
