The Mechanic

Patti Perret

Jason Statham plays a hit man.
Ben Foster plays the new kid he trains.
Statham tries on tough poses (as expected).
Foster acts (unexpected, but nice).
Simon West directs (as if Charles Bronson hadn't already made this movie in 1972).
The plot is moldy.
The violence is constant.
The suspense is nil.
The result is just good enough to pass as an action flick you watch with the forgiving gaze that comes from too many beers and too little sleep.
