Step up for an indie tour de force. Shot on an iPhone 5 for practically no money, Tangerine jumps off the screen and wows you like nobody's business. Transgender actresses Mya Taylor and Kitana Kiki Rodriguez play two L.A. hookers on the prowl on Christmas Eve. Sin-Dee Rella (Rodriguez), just out of jail, wants her BFF Alexandra (Taylor) to help her track down her boyfriend, Chester (James Ransone) and whup his pimp ass. The reasons why give writer-director Sean Baker a chance to explore the sex trade in a groundbreaking film that leaves you in stitches while quietly breaking your heart.
