In the wake of last weekend's massacre in Aurora, Colorado, Warner Bros. has pledged a "substantial" donation to charities in support of the victims of the shooting, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The studio has been communicating with the office of Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper over the matter and plans to donate a lump sum to a fund that will distribute resources over multiple charities. The amount of the contribution will not be made public.

On July 20th, James Holmes went on a shooting spree on the opening night of The Dark Knight Rises, killing at least 12 and leaving dozens injured. The studio canceled a Paris premiere of the film and declined to release box office numbers over the weekend, though reports say the film raked in over $160 million in three days.
