The blockbuster sneak peeks continue to pour out of Comic-Con, with the first official Wonder Woman trailer and then the Justice League teaser the latest to set the San Diego event ablaze.
After DC introduced the latest iteration of the beloved superheroine in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, actress Gal Gadot reprises the role in the standalone film, directed by Patty Jenkins. Producers previously teased Wonder Woman’s backstory in January, but this is fans’ first sneak peek at the action film itself.
The first trailer doesn’t provide too many plot details – Chris Pine’s World War I-era soldier washes up on Wonder Woman’s island and somehow convinces her to fight alongside the good guys – but there’s plenty of action sequences to get fans charged up before the film’s June 2nd, 2017 release. In the trailer, Diana Prince is a one-woman army, facing down an entire military with just her shield, sword and glowing Lasso of Truth.
Wonder Woman co-stars Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen and Lucy Davis. The blockbuster will also set the table for the DC Cinematic Universe’s other 2017 film, the massive ensemble piece Justice League, which will unite Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, the Flash and Cyborg.
