The film features 14 minutes of Muse’s music, mostly the song “Isolated System” from the trio’s latest album, The 2nd Law. The band will perform at the Horse Guards Parade Ground in St. James Park following the film screening in Leicester Square.
“It made the movie feel and sound really cool,” said Randy Spendlove, president of Paramount Pictures’ movie music division. “After we layered in the music, we reached out to their management in the U.S. and the U.K. to see how we could reach beyond the movie. We wanted (the relationship) to be bigger than that.”
Marc Beltrami’s score will be the soundtrack release, but Muse’s music will be used for trailers on all platforms.
World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, centers around a former United Nations investigator (Pitt) as he travels around the world trying to end a pandemic threatening to obliterate mankind, opens in theaters on June 21st.
