Enough with the internet espionage: Kevin Spacey is officially voicing a villian in the new Call of Duty title Advanced Warfare, which hits shelves November 4th via Activision. Based on a lengthy trailer unveiled Friday, the futuristic Sledgehammer Games installment will find the House of Cards star portraying an evil head of a rogue military organization.
Along with previewing the game’s array of tech devices (including hoverbikes, super-strength exoskeletons and weaponized mech suits), the clip finds Spacey warning, “Democracy is not what these people need. Hell, it’s not even what they want!”
Fans have been scouring the internet for details this week, after Call of Duty tweeted “
#ANewEra of Call of Duty arrives May 4th,” along with a link to a cryptic, 12-second teaser that features Spacey warning, “Ideas don’t determine who’s right – power determines who’s right. And I have the power, so I’m right.” The company pushed forward their announcement after a leaked audio clip made its way around the web; Yahoo’s game site noticed that the soundbite ended with a Spectrogram, which, when run through a visualization program, revealed an image that appeared to be a rifle-strapped soldier.
Spacey isn’t the only celebrity lending his talents to the franchise. Rap icon Snoop Dogg recently offered his ultra-smooth voice to Call of Duty: Ghosts, narrating gameplay with quotable lines like “Homies out the joint, it’s party time” and “Don’t stop — cap ’em and shank ’em!”
