Eddie Vedder Will Perform With Roger Waters at ’12-12-12′ Concert

Pearl Jam singer to guest on ‘Comfortably Numb,’ Waters says on ‘Fallon’

Spoiler alert: Roger Waters revealed the bulk of his set list for tonight’s “12-12-12” Sandy benefit concert during a chat on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. “We’re doing a little bit of The Wall and a little bit of Dark Side of the Moon,” Waters said, including “Money,” “Us and Them” and “Comfortably Numb” – with help on the last one from Eddie Vedder. Fallon could scarcely believe it – “I’m freaking out right now!” he exclaimed – but Waters was unruffled. “I’m such a big fan of his work, and we’ve been friends for a while, so it’s great that he’s going to join us.”

The Dark Side of Pink Floyd

The former Pink Floyd leader also said it’s “absolutely true” that he plans to record a new album, which would be his first rock release since Amused to Death in 1992. Fallon said he read in Rolling Stone that Waters was tentatively calling the new effort Heartland, though the singer downplayed the title.  “It’s called I’ve Been Saying This for 19 Years, So Don’t Hold Your Breath,” Waters joked.

The 12-12-12 benefit happens tonight at Madison Square Garden and will feature performances by Waters, Vedder, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton, the Who, Kanye West, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Dave Grohl and Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
