Carrie Underwood Celebrates the Beatles at the Emmys

Country star sings ‘Yesterday’

It's been just about 50 years since the Beatles touched down on American soil, and last night's 65th Primetime Emmy Awards paid tribute to the game-changing moment in music history with a tribute by Don Cheadle and Carrie Underwood, who sang "Yesterday."

Underwood wore an elegant black and blue dress and sang "Yesterday" in "tribute to the historic events of 50 years ago" and to remind us that "TV continues to be a starting place for superstar musical talent" since she got her start on the Fox singing competition American Idol. This is the second big appearance by the country star in the last three weeks; on September 8th, she kicked off the new NFL season as the vocalist on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" theme.
