Ben Affleck continues to shrug off his Oscars snub, winning top filmmaking honors at the Directors Guild Awards over the weekend. Affleck took home Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Argo, an award that follows on the heels of best director wins last month at the Golden Globes and the Critics Choice Awards.

“I don’t think this makes me a real director, but I think this means I’m on my way,” Affleck said in his acceptance speech. He was not among the nominees for Best Director for the 85th Academy Awards later this month.

Other DGA winners included Girls creator Lena Dunham, who earned the award for comedy series for the show’s pilot; and Rian Johnson, who picked up the award for dramatic series for an episode of Breaking Bad. Malik Bendjelloul won the outstanding documentary award for Searching for Sugar Man, which follows the unusual career of cult folk musician Rodriguez.

Affleck and Argo aren’t totally out in the cold for the Academy Awards. The film is up for seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Actor in a Supporting Role for Alan Arkin. Argo also won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture last month at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and earned Best Drama at the Golden Globes. The Oscars ceremony will take place on February 24th.
