After self-releasing his last stand-up special Dangerously Delicious as a $5.00 download, Parks and Recreation‘s Aziz Ansari is partnering with Netflix for his new stand-up special Buried Alive. The show was filmed in Philadelphia, and features the comedian’s perspective on adulthood, children and marriage in the modern era.
The trailer shows Ansari in a meeting with Seth Rogen, and the two brainstorm the best way to market the special. The funny guys first decide to follow Jay Z‘s lead in promoting Magna Carta Holy Grail, which the rapper released first to customers of a mobile phone company.
Rogen suggests putting flash drives inside packages of Bugles, but Ansari points out that someone could choke on the drive while attempting to eat the crunchy snack. Ansari plays with the idea of toaster strudels, but ultimately decides that Netflix is the best platform.
Buried Alive will premier on Netflix on November 1st.
