The filmmakers behind an Arrested Development documentary long in the works have started a KickStarter page to to raise the $20,000 needed to finish their movie.

Five years in the making, the duo making film, Jeff Smith and Lieberman, have completed much of it already, traveling around the world to talk to Arrested Development fans, as well as the show’s creators and cast to get the story behind the making of the cult favorite. The extra money, however, is needed to acquire photo rights from Twentieth Century Fox, who produced the show’s first three seasons.

‘Arrested Development’ Will Look ‘Very Different’ in Fourth Season

“These photos are extremely relevant to the story, and we can’t move forward with the release of the documentary until our fees are paid to the network,” the duo wrote.

A slew of rewards are available for donors as well, and are unsurprisingly packed with Arrested Development in-jokes: For instance a $65 gift makes you a “Loose Seal” donor and gets you a special edition DVD/Blu-ray of the film and a signed movie poster, while the highest donation level of $5,353, dubbed “I Just Blue Myself,” donation gets you a private screening with 53 friends, a download of the film, movie poster and t-shirt.

As of today the project has raised just over $7,000 with 27 days left to go, and you can check out movie’s trailer here as well. Arrested Development will make its long-awaited return on Netflix in May.
