In a recent testimonial video for the Forerunner Christian Church, Jones called the show “filth” and urged viewers to stop watching the hit sitcom. He quickly apologized to the show’s cast and crew, though creator Chuck Lorre is said to be furious with the 19-year-old actor, who plays Jake Harper on the show. Although Jones is keen to finish out his contract, which pays him about $350,000 per episode, it’s unclear whether he’ll be allowed to continue. His publicist said that “conversations are ongoing about his future role on the show.”
Although producers had wanted to renew the show for two more years, Jones only agreed to a one-year contract at the end of last season so he could attend college.
It’s unclear whether the producers of Two and a Half Men will drop him. Though his comments would likely have violated any anti-disparagement clause in his contract, producers could be reluctant to fire him like they did like they did with Charlie Sheen in part partly because Jones’ comments were religious in nature.
