NBC has picked up a new semi-autobiographical sitcom by Adam Levine and longtime buddy Gene Hong. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the deal comes three months after Levine signed a one-year first-look development deal with the network and managing/producing partner Jordan Feldstein from 222 Productions.

Levine and Hong, of Community, were roommates in college and will executive produce the show together with Hong writing the script. The duo had previously worked on a scripted comedy set in a karaoke bar, but the show never made it to pilot.

Universal Television and 222 Productions will produce the comedy, which is scheduled to go into production later this year.
