On Sunday night, Jimmy Fallon will host the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, the looser-than-the-Emmys-or-Oscars affair that honors the best in both film and television. The Tonight Show star is the first new host in seven years, after four stints from the oft-controversial Ricky Gervais and three from his former Saturday Night Live costars Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.
On January 8th, the show will air at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. For those who want to tune in early and see the fashion trends on this year’s red carpet, NBC will air the Golden Globes Arrival Special at 7 p.m. EST. Red Carpet Live will air on E! one hour earlier, with Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest launching their coverage at 6 p.m. EST.
For those without a television set to watch the award show on, the pre-show and live event can be streamed from NBC.com. However, you will need a cable log-in to access the web version.
This year, the whimsical musical La La Land starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone leads the film nominations while Ryan Murphy’s epic The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story leads the television nominations. Other top contenders include Deadpool, Stranger Things, Moonlight and 20th Century Women.
