15. 'Fearless' (1993)
Bridges plays a man who
survives a ghastly plane crash and suddenly has a new outlook on life – somehow
both at peace with his own mortality and also strangely convinced he’s
indestructible. He doesn’t talk too much in the part,
and instead spends much of the movie on the delicate edge between tension and
peace. Peter Weir's acclaimed drama is uneven by design, but Bridges’s performance is riveting, understated and canon-worthy (see the crash scene above for proof).
