Fantasy Strike is a fighting game that hopes to deliver a level of nuance fitting for competitive play without requiring players to master the intricate stick moves typically needed in such games to perform a special attack or super move. The controls are fairly straight forward: Buttons control throw, super, three different attacks and jump. The direction pad or thumbstick moves the fighter left and right, and there is no crouching. Another twist: The Yomi Counter allows you to reverse a throw an instantly fill your super meter by doing nothing. That means no movement and no button pushes when your opponent tries to throw you. Stick around through the entire video to watch as I start to get my feet under me in the game.
