Planescape: Torment is one of those classic games that will induce violent nostalgic in anyone who was old enough to be gaming in the late nineties. Soon a new generation will be able to play the critically-acclaimed RPG thanks to an Enhanced Edition on the way from Beamdog. There's not much news beyond the trailer above, and the promise Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition on will be released on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android.
The original Planescape: Torment was developed by Black Isle Studios and published by Interplay Entertainment in 1999. It followed an immortal chasing his lost memories and was heavy on the story and magic. You've probably seen or even played its spiritual successor, Torment: Tides of Numenera, which was released last month.
This new version of Planescape: Torment was built by Beamdog, a studio that has already created Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and Icewind Dale. Chris Avellone, who worked on the original game, has also contributed to the new version.
UPDATE: Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition will be released on PC and Mac on April 11. No dates yet for the Android and iOS versions.
