Aliens Versus Predator (1999)
There were three campaigns in Aliens Versus Predator: one for a poor doomed marine, one for a heavily armed Predator, and one that let you play as a xenomorph. It was immediately disorienting being an alien, seeing the world from a distorted fisheye perspective that could, at the tap of the Q key, be traded for a photographic negative version of the world with no shadows. Crawling up the walls and along the ceiling felt strange too, your speed making it easy to race right past a room exit. But it was the right kind of strangeness, perfect for making you feel like an alien killer – especially when you had helpless humans lined up beneath you and were ready to pounce.
