Thimbleweed Park

Maniac Mansion alums Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick's Thimbleweed Park is a modern update to the SCUMM titles of their LucasArts past. Falling somewhere between Monkey Island’s slapstick humor and Twin Peaks' penchant for oddball characters, a pair of FBI agents are dispatched to deal with a mysterious murder in a backwoods town. In the game's original pitch on Kickstarter, Gilbert and Winnick set out to create a parody of Twin Peaks, X-Files and True Detective, and from the moment the detectives Ray and Reyes stand over a dead body and comment that "it's beginning to pixelate," the tone of the game hews pretty close to that idea.
