There you are at the mall in 1993 – Babbage's is just around the corner, and you can't wait to check out the hot new games you've been hearing about. You get to the window, and you're amazed. Yeah, you've seen what Myst can do with CD-ROM technology, but this – this – this is something special. It's X-wings and TIE fighters engaged in the most movie-like dogfighting you've seen in a game. It's pilots actually speaking in full conversations to one another. It's…the future!
OK, so maybe the on-rails action doesn't stand the test of time so well. And maybe it's really weird to be blowing up the Death Star as some guy named Rookie One. It's 1993, and you don't care. You just want to play through the whole thing again and again.
