The next game from Koji Igarashi, who developed a cult following for his work on the Castlevania series, is now coming to Nintendo Switch. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will skip its planned release on Wii U in favor of the new console.

"During our Kickstarter campaign, the Wii U was at the height of its popularity, but the situation has drastically changed after the release of Nintendo Switch," says Igarashi. "This change made it difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker, which has led us to drop the Wii U development and shift the development to Nintendo Switch."

Bloodstained has been called a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series and it's also being released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PlayStation Vita. You can expect to get your hands on it early next year.
