Nintendo has just released the latest trailer for Splatoon 2 and it gives us a good look at the story that drives the single player mode. It's all about the Squid Sisters.
Callie is missing in action and you have to help Marie find her, all while fending off the Octarian army. Nintendo has already filled fans in with a seven chapter story that explains the events between Splatoon and Splatoon 2.
In case you need a recap, the Squid Sisters are an idol style musical group in the game's Inkopolis. With the final Splatfest event for Splatoon last year Nintendo dumped an emotional dirty bomb on the fandom, forcing them to choose their favorite Squid Sister. Marie was chosen as the most popular, 54 per cent of the vote. Whatever your thoughts on Nintendo's technical take on the shooter genre, it's definitely interesting to watch it build the community's choices into the game's narrative.
Splatoon 2 will be released on July 21.
