Microsoft kicked off an Xbox One S sale this past weekend that may be better than even they realized.
The deal delivers a free game to anyone who buys a new 1TB Xbox One S console. The twist is that the deal varies greatly depending on where you do the buying.
If, for instance, you pick up the 1TB Xbox One S Halo Wars bundle, from Target, that store automatically gives you an extra copy of the same game. Pretty terrible deal, right?
But if you go to the Microsoft Store and pick-up the Battlefield 1 console, you can choose from maybe eight games. Which isn't that bad.
Enter Best Buy.
At Best Buy, if you go to this link, it lets you choose any Xbox One S game in their library, apparently including pre-orders for unreleased games, and then you simply pick the 1 TB Xbox One S you want and the game you chose is free.
I didn't go through with the purchase, but when I added a pre-order for Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Xbox One S 1TB Battlefield 1 special edition console to my car, it made the game free and wanted to charge me the $349.99 for the console bundle. Not bad.
If you've been pondering the idea of getting an Xbox One, this is the sort of deal, especially at Best Buy, that seems to make it worth your while.
