‘Conan Exiles’ heads north for new expansion
Players of Funcom’s open world survival game Conan Exiles better pack an extra loincloth. Things are about to get chilly. The publisher today announced it’s releasing a free expansion for PC and Xbox One on Aug. 16 called “The Frozen North.” That’s the same day the full game goes live on Xbox One for the first time ever. The update will reportedly add 70 percent more landmass to the game world, along with new mechanics like fish traps, beekeeping, and cooking. A new climate and weather system will force players to dress accordingly or face certain death, while the new brewing system will let them make alcohol to keep them warm. Conan Exiles is still in early access and will release in full on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime during the first quarter of 2018.
