Pico Unveils First Mass-Produced Standalone VR Headset With 6DoF
Beijing-based technology company Pico officially revealed the Pico Neo this week. It's the first mass-produced standalone VR device with six degrees of freedom (6DoF) for both the headset and controllers. The Neo features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile VR Platform, 4GB RAM, 64GB UFS2.0 ROM supporting 256GB expanded storage, and a 3K high definition display. Thanks to the processor and a new ultrasonic remote controller solution, the Neo can track both head and hand movements without external sensors. There's no word yet on when it will launch or what it will cost.
