Geguri is Officially the Overwatch League's First Female Player
Kim "Geguri" Se-Yeon is a 19-year-old pro Overwatch player known for her incredible play as the hero Zarya. She's so good, other players nicknamed her "God Zarya" or "World's Best Zarya". Some even (falsely) accused her of cheating. She's also now officially the first woman to join the Overwatch League.
The Shanghai Dragons announced today it signed Geguri, along with He "Sky" Junjian, Lee "Fearless" Euiseok, and Chon "Ado" Gihyeon. The team is now working to bring the four players to the United States.
"We are securing visas and communicating league rules, as well as providing language assistance, professional education, and logistical support," it says in a statement. "All members of the Shanghai Dragons will work together to help the four new players adjust to the high-intensity competition of the Overwatch League, so that they can show their best form and level of play."
The team says the four new members will also help tackle its "core problems." It went 0-10 in the first stage of the Overwatch League's first season. Stage Two begins February 22nd. The Dragons' first opponent will be the Dallas Fuel.
