'Shadow of the Colossus' Remake Contains a New Mystery

The Shadow of the Colossus remake came out on PS4 today, and fans are already working on solving a mysterious new puzzle, according to Eurogamer.

The original 2005 game contained two sets of optional collectibles, fruit trees and lizard tails. Both of them are in the remake, but there's also now a third type of collectible, which fans are calling "Enlightenments" or "Gold Coins." Unlike the tails and trees, these coins have no clear purpose. There's apparently no trophy associated with finding them, and they're not included in the in-game stats summary. But, a corner of the map screen does display the number of coins found.

So, how many coins are there and what do they do? Fans believe there are 79 total. They point to a message in the end credits as evidence. It thanks the "Nomad Colossus and the 79 steps to enlightenment." I'm sure it won't take the gaming community long to find all of them and solve the puzzle.
