Three 'Jak and Daxter' Classics Are Coming to PS4
Before Uncharted and Nathan Drake made developer Naughty Dog famous, there was Jak and Daxter. The early 2000s platformer made its way to the PlayStation 4 a few months ago. Now, Sony is porting the sequels too. Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X Combat Racing will be available for download on the PlayStation Store on December 6th. You can purchase the games individually or as part of a bundle.
Jak II is notable because it's the first entry in the series to give the main character a voice, allowing Naughty Dog to explore narrative techniques that influenced later work. "The narrative tropes Naughty Dog explored in Jak and Daxter laid the foundation for the evolution of their highly innovative storytelling," Sony Interactive Entertainment America associate producer Bryan Pardilla writes on the PlayStation Blog. "It put them on the path that led to the creation of future blockbuster franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us – and to think it all started with giving Jak his own voice."
