Russia Uses a Video Game Screenshot to Suggest The U.S. is Working With ISIS

Occasionally, the mainstream media goofs and uses a video game screenshot in a real-life news story. Now, the Russian ministry of defense allegedly used an indie game called AC-130 Gunship Simulator as "proof" the U.S. is working with ISIS. This morning, @mod_russia tweeted a series of photos of the supposed military operation in Syria.

"The Ministry of Defence shows irrefutable evidence that #US are actually covering ISIS combat units to recover their combat capabilities, redeploy, and use them to promote American interests in Middle East," it said in the now-deleted tweet. It was quickly debunked by Christiaan Triebert at Bellingcat.
