GameStop Hits Pause on Its Unlimited Used Games Service
Last week, we told you GameStop is launching an unlimited used games subscription service called Power Pass. Now, it looks like the video game retailer is temporarily putting it on hold, according to Kotaku. Some GameStop employees were allegedly told to pull all signage involving the program and store them. The retailer also asked staff to toss the store's Holiday Guide and replace the weekly ad promoting Power Pass, according to Kotaku's source.
“We have elected to temporarily pause the roll out of the new Power Pass subscription service, based on a few program limitations we have identified," a GameStop spokesperson tells Kotaku. "We feel this is the right thing to do for now to ensure we are able to provide our guests an exceptional service."
