There Will Be 'No Bullshit' in 'Cyberpunk 2077' Says CD Projekt Red
The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red is assuring fans its next project, Cyberpunk 2077, will be a "no bullshit" story-driven RPG. In a recent interview with Polish investment site Strefa Inwestorow, CEO Adam Kicinski said "there will be a certain online element related to Cyberpunk." This led people to think the studio is ditching its single-player roots and jumping on the "games as service" bandwagon. But, CD Projekt Red took to Twitter yesterday to say, "Worry not."
.@PrettyBadTweets Worry not. When thinking CP2077, think nothing less than TW3 — huge single player, open world, story-driven RPG. No hidden catch, you get what you pay for — no bullshit, just honest gaming like with Wild Hunt. We leave greed to others.— CD PROJEKT RED (@CDPROJEKTRED) November 19, 2017
That's some serious shade, especially after the recent Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot box controversy. For now, it seems CD Projekt Red is committed to making Cyberpunk 2077 a single-player, story-focused experience. So, what is the "certain online element" Kacinski mentions in the interview? We'll have to wait and see.
