Bungie Apologizes For 'Destiny 2' Faction Rally Issues

Bungie is apologizing to Destiny 2 fans after recent changes to its Faction Rally event sparked anger in the community. When it discovered players could earn hundreds of Faction Tokens without firing a single shot, the studio throttled those rewards. If someone opened more than two Lost Sector chests in a 10-minute period, they wouldn't receive rewards from those chests for the next 10 minutes. But, limiting the amount of loot you can get in a loot-based game didn't sit well with many people. Bungie addressed their anger in an update post yesterday.

"We’re looking at a change that won’t make players feel forced to run to and from a single chest for hours while also not placing a hard stop on enjoying Lost Sectors," Bungie says. "We want to ensure that every time you open a chest there is loot inside."

Additionally, Bungie issued a mea culpa for the way it handled Season 2 weapons. "It was not made clear beforehand that the new Season 2 weapons would be added throughout the events of the Season rather than all at once in the beginning. This was on us. No excuses," it says. "We will be remedying this lapse in communication next week with details on what you should expect when the next Iron Banner rolls out in Season 2."

Bungie says it will share more details on how it plans to tweak Faction Rallies before the next one arrives.
